Chhaava
The lion had once prowled Deccan so fierce, That its tremors were the source of fright 'n frail; All inside the halls of otherwise brute, Aurang's chambers up at Delhi so far! That Chhatrapati though left the shrine soon, A delusion deemed as Maratha's fall, Returned back with shock to Sultan's shire speed, That the Chhaava still lives on though Lion passed! The Cub raised by Father himself, strong 'n sharp; Deccan 'gain had braced for action, wild ways! Sleep again was dream to the ol' emp'ror, Seven years of struggle for him saw South; If it hadn't for Treason, could he slay Raj? If it hadn't for Treason, would the cub kneel? The Cub still did not kneel, it just stood straight, Through all tortures, torments and betrayed bruise- His legs still stood proud, the cub of that lion! Conversion of faith was simple, sets free, Still his last of breath screamed Jagadambā!
