Changing Seasons
Changing Seasons by Jack A. S. Dunce How I've long sought to reach the sparkling stars to know their secrets that I wished were mine. Not for the gold or glory of the czars, but for a home under the sunshine. For this dream I spent all of spring and summer, 'twas worth my while despite the sweat and toil. From out the blue rushed fall in midsummer like a rogue wave engulfing all as it roiled. The green of my fields withered to brown with branches of once proud trees bare as bones. The warm hues of the past that I've known drowned out by a flood of frost monotones. Although time tells me it still midday, I see the midnight sun in my noon sky as I gaze at the stars from faraway in this start of the season for goodbyes. ©️pgmr 10/31/2024
