I look into the mirror and my image smiles back It poses the question “Who are you? Who am I?” Who are you? Thats easy You are what I want people to see Wild hair bright eyes and a wicked smile You are my past and my present My creative expression wrapped in my scarred flesh But who am I? Now that's hard to answer I am a culmination of all the people I have ever loved Their laughs and smiles and mannerisms I am memories and experiences A camera, an all-seeing eye I am flesh and blood A beating heart and a constantly whirring brain I am a statue Stone carved from the hardest moments of my life My reflection's brow furrows in thought “What will we become?” If the other questions were hard to answer then this one is impossible We will become better and worse A hurricane that wrecks a town And the townspeople who rebuild stronger than ever We will grow and destroy ourselves as we do so A phoenix rising from its ashes My reflection now looks scared “When does it happen?
