Chains
Chains of oppression grow around us, binding one to another without a fuss. We strive for freedom, but in vain, for these chains are relentless and strong. Our minds are caged in tears, trapped in our dark and forgotten fears; The walls grow higher and wider, containing us all like inside a spider web. Our hands struggle trying to break free, but the links of the chains are too strong to flee. The prisoner of our mind and conscience, holds us down away from the light of sunshine. Fears of ghosts and unknowns, lie hidden beneath oppression's thrones. Thoughts blocked and eyes shut tight, shackles us in a world of fright. Our voices cry out in desperation, but only silence are the answers to our pleas. A war of will to be won, for liberty and a new sun.
