Chained
Tonight, we tried to voice out What's in our hearts But the words bounced off our faces Like tiny stones Covered in shards of a black mirror. The echoes crawling under our skin, Creating fear in our veins, Tears flowed from our hateful eyes, Or did I see a hint of love Behind your brimming salty waters? And we suddenly became afraid… The thought of living life Without each other, Chilled our bones. We were afraid To face tomorrow Without each other's warmth. Tonight, we tried to say it out loud But we sealed our mouth And we're glad… We're glad that we are still together Amid the turbulent roar of our minds And the soothing silence of the night. ©reddragonfly
