Carpe Diem

“Oh Captain, my Captain” I used to chase tomorrow’s dawn, Dreaming of what’s yet to come, But time whispered softly, “Girl, the sun is shining, look, it’s now begun”. Why fear the time that you haven’t breathe, When life is dancing in your chest? The present hums a fleeting tune, And living now, that is the due. “Seize the day, makes your lives sublime.” To live with purpose, not with fear, To write your verses in your own tune. For greatness isn’t in applause, Nor in the plans that goes lost, It blooms when hearts choose what they love, And dare to to live with the truth that you have. So, I must stand upon my desk and say — With voice unshaken, wild and brave, “O Captain, my Captain” lead the way, For life is to short, but heart can save. I’ll write my verse upon the darkness, Laugh loud, love deep, be bold be free, For Carpe Diem calls our soul, To live, to dream, and make my life to be an extraordinary.
