"candle flame and me"
My candle fades, its light is small, It shakes against the heavy air; I gave my heart, I gave my all, But found no hand to hold me there. Her face I loved through many years, It lived within my waking eyes; Now it returns with burning tears, A broken dream that never dies. My blood betrayed, my friends were cold, The path I built was swept away; The hopes I carried, bright and bold, All vanished in a single day. Love was the last I tried to keep, But even love has left me bare; Now shadows follow where I sleep, And silence answers every prayer.
