Caged Dreams.
Here I wander, here to stay Behind these bars, in a world of disarray We watch you pass, with curious eyes We are here as prey, for your entertainment's eye's Once the king of the wild, roaming free and strong Guardians of our land, where our ancestors belonged But you caged us up, for your own delight Some of us were taken, from the wild's warm light Monkeys stolen away, from treetop homes so high Now we're here to stay, under this concrete sky Because of your destruction, we no longer roam Our instincts are fading, in this artificial home A bear's lament, in a den so small I dream of forests, where I once would roam and fall The salmon's leap, the river's flow Are distant memories, as I pace and grow My fur is dull, my spirit worn From years of captivity, and a life that's torn From the wild's wild heart, where I once would thrive Now I'm a spectacle, a life that's lost its drive We dream of forests deep, of oceans wide and blue But here we'll stay, in this enclosure anew We pace and we pine, for the freedom we once knew A distant memory, of a life wild and true
