Bygones
Let bygones be bygones As they whisper through autumn leaves Ghosts of laughter Shadows of old scars, Fingers trace the edges time bereaves, Memories like stars, both near and far. Let them drift on rivers long gone dry, No chains to bind what Yesterday has wrought; In letting go, the spirit learns to fly, Bygones fade, and new dawns are sought. Lessons linger, soft as dawn's first ray, Fuel for wings that soar on open skies; Bygones fade to spark the brand new day, Step forward bold Today's where freedom lies!
