Bye
In a realm where time has withered and memories fade, A fallen tree lay, its branches spread like arms outstretched, As if reaching out to greet me, a silent serenade. The bark, once smooth and vibrant, now weathered and cragged, Bore the etchings of time's relentless passage, Yet within its depths, a whisper of love lingered, untagged. I ran my hand along its gnarled surface, feeling the grooves, As if tracing the lines of a forgotten love, A love once pure and vibrant, now etched in the grooves. The branches, like gnarled fingers, reached out, As if seeking to embrace me, to pull me back, To a time when love was young and the world was new, without a crack. I closed my eyes and let the memories wash over me, A flood of emotions, both joyous and bittersweet, As I stood beneath the fallen tree, lost in the moment, as if set free. Is this the place we used to love? I whispered to the breeze As the fallen tree swayed gently, its branches like whispering trees, And in the rustling leaves, I heard a voice, a gentle tease, Saying, "Love never truly dies, it simply finds new ways to appease."
