By The Seaside
I sat by the seaside, Searching for peace, And to clear my mind, Sounds of laughter, And clinging from the local bar chimes, Your voice... Echoing through my mind, Overcrowding my thoughts, I tilt my head to the sky, Breathing in the sea scents, I close my eyes, Your voice... Overpowering mine, I try to write about everything, That wasn't you in sight, But there's a whisper... Love's beautiful... But only fools drive blind, Ghost's of the scares I hide, But then something happened, Whenever I wrote... I was told, Not to write about love, So I wrote about the sun instead, Her warmth, her light, The way she willows away, In an aura of orange and red, I was told, Not to write about love, So I adored the sea, So peaceful... yet won't hesitate, To make you take notice, Of her unparalleled fury, I was told, Not to write about love, So I went to smell the flowers, Their scent... Familiar but enchanting, I retired home after embracing them, For what felt like hours, I woke the next day, And reached for my notebook, I was shook, I couldn't tell if I wrote of the scenery... Or you, And then I realized... I was told, Not to write about love, So I wrote of everything, That carried a bit of you.
