burning in the dark
When you grow up in a dim, shadowy home where faces are obscured and voices are often raised, as you mature you will start to think that no such thing of light exist, no light to see that bright smile, no light to raise a toast to your family to celabrate an occasion, cause an occasion in your house is not having to feel the flakes cold scars on your wrist, actually having the courage to search where light can be found but you were raised in the dark, how are you suppose to know where such light can be found, place to place, room to room, you search, but you don't have even a flashlight to help find more light, searching in one of these rooms life has given me to clear, the foot steps of someone else can be heard, reaching out for their arm to grasp who they are, you feel the same flakey cold scars, someone who has felt the scar forming, felt the pain processing, they pull away their arm and search for something in there pack and as the zipper makes it's noise, a flash light is turned on and given to me, I share a small smile as we use the bit of light we share in this flashlight and use it to seek more of what we thought was an impossible search.
