Broken Wing
I lost my wings when I lost my drive, The strength to push, to thrive. People often fall, but this feels strange, A deep cut, out of my range. Like a bird, I want to soar so high, Up where no one can reach my sky. They try to crush my will to stand, To be different, to take my own land. At the end of the day, I’m still me, But what I face, they’ll never see. Nothing’s a joke, nothing feels right— They call, but they’re blind to my fight. All they know is to silence that song, To cage the bird that’s longed so long.
