Broken Promises
In a world of broken promises, you came my way, With a smile that masked the games you'd play. Out of all them, you were the one who stole my heart, But little did I know, it was just the start. You whispered sweet nothings, filled my mind with dreams, But beneath your words, deception gleamed. Promises shattered like fragile glass, Leaving scars that time could never pass. I believed in your love, in your every word, But your lies and deceit were so absurd. You played with my emotions, a puppeteer of pain, Leaving me broken, lost in the rain. Out of all them, you were the one who broke my trust, Leaving me to pick up the pieces, turning love to dust. But I'll rise from the ashes, stronger than before, For broken promises won't define me anymore. Though you stole my heart, I'll reclaim my soul, Healing the wounds, making myself whole. In the wreckage of your deceit, I'll find my way, And leave behind the pain of yesterday. Out of all them, you were the one who taught me well, To guard my heart and break free from your spell. No longer a victim of broken promises, I'll be, For I've learned to love myself, and that's the key Romique π.
