Broken promise
A letter to the one who broke me Living daily with a smile etched on my face Going about my activities with so much poise and grace Upholding my forte by keeping up the pretense But with every step I take reminding me of you It makes it harder and more painful to smile I cannot deny how badly my heart breaks each day I remember it all like it was yesterday When I remember every part of the promises we made Was it all a charade? Like some kind of game in an arcade The thoughts of you would trigger so much adrenaline What I shared with you was beautiful and genuine I never thought losing you would leave me so broken It felt like a part of me was stolen You said you'd be here forever You had sworn that you'd never leave I loved you hopelessly and I believed I woke up to the realization that you were gone It left me broken like one forlorn I had hoped to fulfill that oath for a lifetime Apparently, life had a different plan ©Mega_word
