Broken Heart
Don't make me want this again. Don't make me fight. Please, I am tired. shadows deep, my heart's inner despair does dwell. For it's purpose is to fuel the hope that resides within me but you push me and I lose sight. A darkness grips, a sorrow's heavy swell. For love's sweet touch, a bittersweet embrace. It is ironic how much love I gave out. Yet in return I'm given memories. Memories that will haunt me forever and leave me, wonder, what I did wrong..? Why do you surround me in darkness? Loving you was taking everything I could not give myself and putting it to good use. I can absorb the bad days and wake up smiling but it's hard to try and breathe again. But your love will not heal me. I yearn for love, its warmth, its sweet embrace, To be someone's, in their heart, find my place. But not yours, in this melancholy. I don't want to be yours, I've lost my way, My happiness, a price I must now pay. I fear that in the end, I must concede. Replacing love with other practical emotions like doubt and paranoia. Paranoia? Practical? Well..it's more practical than the thought of leading myself blind. To put myself last, my heart, my needs. For love is cruel, it asks a heavy toll.
