BROKEN
Sometimes I just want to disappear, To curl up small, and vanish here. To find a dark and silent place, Where no one looks upon my face. I dream of corners, cold and deep, A thick, warm blanket, endless sleep. To shut the world out, close the door, And not be needed anymore. But I can’t— I don’t have that kind of grace. They keep calling me like I’m some sacred place. They speak my name like it’s divine, Yet none of them ask if I’m fine. They want my strength, my mind, my fire, They fear me, envy me, admire. Some curse my name behind closed doors, Use dark things to settle scores. They wish me gone, they wish me dead, While smiling kindly as they’re fed By what I give, by who I am They take it all without a damn. And me? I cry in silence, in the night, I hold my pillow and grip it tight. Tears soak the dark with all I hide, But no one’s ever by my side. I wipe my face before the sun, Pretend the war inside is done. Smile like I don’t feel the ache, Like I’m not about to break. I’m broken Not just inside, but all around. Cracked in ways that don’t make sound. My soul is tired, my fire dim, My world’s gone quiet, dark, and grim. I need help Not just a hug or kind reply. I need someone to hear my cry.
