Breath held in silence
I’m running, running, through endless days, Chasing dreams in countless ways. Emotionless, yet standing tall, Pushing myself to give my all. I pause for a while to breathe again, Locking away my hidden pain. I wait and hope to hear you call, Watching shadows on my wall. Every bell feels like your sign, Every tick feels less like time. Seasons change before my eyes, Still I run beneath the skies. PN Afraid to meet, afraid to fall, Afraid your voice won’t come at all. What if hope just fades away? What if you never come to stay? What if I trust and lose once more, And break like waves upon the shore? My fragile heart, too weak, too small, Can’t survive another fall. I hold my breath, I wait for you, With trembling faith so deep and true. For in the end, my only goal— To share my last breath with your soul.
