"Breaking Chains"by ummi pate
I'm breaking chains, I'm setting me free From Kaduna's government, where I'm not seen As a nurse, I toil, with heart and soul But welfare neglected, my spirit grows old Pending areas, unpaid and worn A weight that's crushing, my future torn No respect, no care, no gentle hand A profession noble, yet so unplanned I'm leaving behind, a system so flawed Where dedication's met, with neglect and raw I'm not alone, many more will follow Unless changes come, and a new path is hollow To stop the exodus, a call to make Kaduna's government, for nurses' sake Pay our dues, and show some care Value our work, and show you're fair Improve working conditions, a must Provide training, and let us trust Our safety, a priority, a right A healthy work-life balance, a delight Listen to our pleas, and heed the call For nurses are the backbone, after all Without us, healthcare would decay So prioritize our welfare, come what may.
