bound by braid
My braid is tied tight but it's out of sight, Buried with my grandfather in the ground, When alone at night I think of his light, As I feel his energy all around. As tears fill my eyes I start to realize, I know I'll never be alone again, All of my pain flies to the skies, He's within a plane I can't explain. Now running my hand down my shortened hair, Praying to my grandfather I declare, I will never be pulled down by despair, As I'm climbing out of my own nightmare. My hair is with him as he is with me, A strong connection that no one can see, So as I stand in my own debris, Finally for the first time i feel free.
