Bottles
In a realm of thoughts, where joy resides, I opened my head like a jar, a treasure to provide. Bottles of happy thoughts, lined up in array, To share with friends and family, day after day. With eager hands, I'd distribute the cheer, A giver of joy, year after year. The demand never waned, an unspoken decree, To offer solace to others, selflessly. As the bottles diminished, a silent decay, I watched as happiness slowly slipped away. The duty to give, an endless parade, Left me depleted, emotions frayed. The bottles grew sparse, like stars in eclipse, A self-imposed duty, with unwarranted slips. I gave and I gave, a hollowing act, Until my own soul was left cracked. The joy I dispensed, a finite supply, A reservoir depleted, a tear in my eye. But as the bottles dwindled, I failed to see, I'd given them all, none left for me. Scratching and scraping, within the recess, No more bottles to share, a profound distress. The well of happiness, once deep and wide, Now echoes with absence, a turbulent tide. No more laughter echoed in the chambers within, Just the haunting question, where did it begin? The joy was dispersed, a vanishing show, Now a lonely echo. Where did all the bottles go?
