"Bluer Than the Ocean"
Bluer than the ocean, baby drifts away, Tides of love receding at the close of day. Poured out every heartbeat, every vow I made, Left me in the silence where the colors fade. Westward runs the fire, burning out the sun, Chasing down a feeling we can’t outrun. He struck the chords, and let the echoes play, But even melodies must lose their way. We danced through the darkness, chasing a spark, Lighting up the edges of a sky gone dark. But now I ask in whispers, soft and rough: Are we gonna fall—or fall in love? No answers in the starlight, no sure sign, Only fear that love won’t toe the line. Still I reach, though I don't know how— Is it ever enough, if it’s not now?
