Blue June
Outside not starving but surviving. I am not alone; even at the blackest beside her is my home. Paranoia, drugs, and sexual tension; mosquitoes, ticks, and midnight storms. is this the lowest? I don't want you scared in the woods! I don't want fights in the darkness, we can do better if we think better. The air is local but clean, my skin shadowed with dirt. But beside you, I lay, inside you I play, tomorrow, I pray. For better days, sunshine and heartstrings. Playing music in my soul, beside you, I think I belong. But outside here against the elements, drunkards and hobos. An aura of orange and blue, the skies even somehow remind me of you. Boxes of food and cans of heart, no matter the journey beside you is where I finish and start.
