blue heron
your eyes, a gentle gleam, My heart, a captured dream. A whisper soft, a tender sigh, Forever, you and I. flash of sapphire against the green, A heron, stately, and serene. Long legs wade in the water's cool, A silent hunter by the pool. A patient gaze, a sudden strike, A silver fish, a watery pike. It lifts its head, a silent grace, And takes to air, leaving no trace.
