blinding light
I don't just see darkness, I feel it's touch I hear it's deafening silence pounding in my ears As it rushes through my veins, filling my heart with Emptiness, cold, unending emptiness. No point in turning back, to re trace my steps. No...I won't turn back, I can't go back, I will not feel those things again. I will not be her again. So Small, weakened, tired, obedient, guilty, ashamed, shaken and afraid. NO! I'd rather face the dark than go back there. I must keep going forward. It goes on and on for what feels an eternity, But something makes me pause and wait. A soft light appearing in the distance. Safe, almost like outstretched arms, beckoning me to keep going forward. The pounding in my ears seems to be quieting, the darkness giving way to a new dawn, a new day, a new chance, new hope, a new love, a better me. Slowly the dawn begins to warm me, bathing my body in it's gentle light, lifting and guiding, not changing or fixing, just being the light i need to see my way to the next part of my path. And now I have felt its embrace, it's pure loving glow and have let it fill my heart with it's light, I now know that no matter how dark my night is...the sun will always rise again.
