blinded by love
In the silence of my reckoning, I heard the whispers, soft and low, Warnings that this love would end in ways I wouldn't want to know. Yet, I chose to close my ears, let my heart lead where it may, Now amidst the aching shards, my head's wise words I disobey. My mind, it spoke of caution, of a path that surely wound, But my heart, it leaped with fervor, in her gaze, it was profound. I didn't heed the signs that screamed, this love could only mar, Now I'm nursing tender wounds, a heart burdened with its scar. But oh, if she called out my name, in the throes of her despair, Would I leap without a second thought, head over heels into the air? For even knowing the crushing end, that awaits me in this dive, I question if I'm just blinded by love, or if it's love that makes me feel alive. So here I stand, a sentinel, with my heart still beating true, In love's cruel paradox, I'm lost, not knowing what to do. With every beat, a reminder—of what I had and what I lack, Blinded by love, I'd walk this path, even if it leads me back.
