Blended
Sometimes my thoughts of death Will give me pause But not because I've won or lost, Nor for any single cause I know, Save one. And that is you. Or more aptly put, we two. Where we, a blend of you and I, Conduct ourselves as passersby To end a simple life well spent, If not truly just, at least content. For we are blended well within it all; Invisible to human eyes, Awaiting now sweet heaven's call. Just beyond our earthly pall. No vision known Can perceive our presence here. And we, not lonely, may surmise that, Within this realm of consciousness, Are some other souls in human guise; Evidence of earthly essence In ghostly brief evanescence. Perhaps those travelers we can't see, But truly, strangers we can not be.
