Bleeding Out
I took off my skin and showed you my bones, My veins peeked through, my guts spilled throughout. I showed you myself as if I was your own, And you just left me there bleeding out. I tried to sew myself together again, But my skin will never truly be clean. You've hollowed my mind, left footsteps in strain, I feel like a peasant when I used to be a queen. My throat felt tight when you walked out that door, I tried to stand up but my vision was hazy. I've never been in this situation before, You used me and that made me feel crazy. I thought ripping myself open would make you see me, I thought the fault was mine to hold. But you cast me away like I was empty, And stole the warmth that once made me bold.
