bleeding heart
there was something so tender about the connection we had three hearts linked together by the threads of fate and ages of time between us his presence brought me ease and joy and hers brought me safety and love in his face i saw the same way i wanted nothing more than to see her laughing and a fierce protectiveness in the pit of my heart to keep these two souls from harm and it struck me the night they said that they weren't joking the night of the wedding, emotions at the cusp and i realized that the closeness between a trio of wild hearts was not merely a longing gnawing at the whites of my bones but a desire to be loved and to love both of them in a playful stack of four people in a bed it gripped me in the darkness then and there when i thought so long about kissing the bare expanse of her shoulder and his fingers danced along mine that i could finally belong here and understand how to be loved
