Bleak memories
I write on these pages, yet my skin is the one being carved. Every stroke of ink from my pen creates a new scar on my soul for me to carry. Without you, everything feels so bleak. Even the breaths I take — are they heavy because they carry your name? Or are they just giving up, like I am starting to? This silence you treat me to — it’s harsher than the life I had till now. I'm shrouded in this haze of misery and dread, caused by your departure. I’m hopelessly roaming these empty paths that lead me back to my failure all over again. Why do I feel so utterly lost? Is it 'cause you were the light in my eyes? Or is it not — because ever since I lost you, I’m unable to see anything. I am beyond blind. I see nothing but those haunting memories of the past. It really broke me, love. Broke me from inside out. I do weep in a corner of my room, hoping you had stayed. So pathetic, aren’t I? I'm sorry, my love — It seems that, I simply can't forget you.
