Blame
Blame falls on me like autumn leaves, Though I'm innocent as can be. It's not my fault, but no one believes, And I'm left with the penalty. I try to reason, try to explain, But my words fall on deaf ears. My heart feels heavy, my spirit drained, As I'm left to face my fears. I'm tired of being the scapegoat, The one who's always in the wrong. It's not fair, it's not just, and I hope That one day I'll be seen as strong. But for now, I'll take the blame, And I'll try to make it right. I'll shoulder the burden, the shame, And I'll do it without a fight. For I know that I'm not to blame, And that's all that really matters. I'll rise above, I'll wear my crown, And I'll never be the same. So let them point, let them accuse, For I know who I am inside. I'll never falter, I'll never lose, And I'll always keep my pride. I'll stand tall, I'll stand strong, And I'll never let them bring me down. I'll keep moving forward, all along, And I'll never let them see me frown. For I am not the guilty one, And I'll never let them forget. I'll keep shining, like the sun, And I'll never have any regret. So let the blame fall where it may, For I know that I'm not to blame. I'll keep shining, every day, And I'll always keep my name.
