Black-Spun Sugar
She is black-spun sugar, made of barbed wire and lace. She is sad, sweet, darkness, a broken smile on a pretty face. The sweetness of her being, has grown acrid with waste. She once knew the flavor of joy, but has since forgotten the taste. She fiercely misses the home, from where she was misplaced. Like an ill-fitting nesting doll, she no longer fits inside that space. She moves throughout life, like crooked legs without a brace. Over the last few years, her movements have lost their grace. She changes and transforms, her old self gone without a trace, she was wiped away completely, by the tears in her pillowcase. Her taste is sickly sweet, like wine with an antifreeze chase. She is sad, sweet, darkness, a broken smile on a pretty face.
