Black Flowers
I just want to fade into the background Paint all my flowers black. Take the wheel, and then crash. Because, ultimately, there's no going back. I want to be more than what I am. Feel alive and break free from restraints. Tired of loving and being let down. Broken from those who held on too tightly. Like a noose around my neck, I broke on the fall. Now, I struggle to breathe. I am learning to love myself but still allow others to hurt me. Needing to set boundaries, but how do you do that with family? Breaking so many ties till there's no one left. Now, there's just darkness. So I paint my flowers black and don't look back. There's nothing behind me, but my future is brimming bright. Oh dear, I think I might be alright.
