Bittersweet Refuge
Within these walls, where shadows play, Laughter and tears entwine each day. Prayers and pain, a symphony sweet, Echoes of hope, hearts skip a beat. Some seek solace, others a cure, From ailments that plague, and hearts that endure. Some recover, others await their fate, Miracles or goodbyes, an uncertain state. In-patients, out-patients, come and go, Leaving with joy, or shattered souls to show. Despair and agony entwine like a vine, Death's presence looms, a constant shrine. Blood and tears, fear and confusion reign, A dance of deceit, where hope's in vain. Yet, amidst pain, hope eternally stays, New cases arrive, doctors and nurses rush to save. Attendants bond, sharing burdens and fears, Offering advice, wiping away tears. Some stay for years, others just a brief while, For some, this place brings smiles, for others, denial. A refuge for some, a prison for others, Longing for life without suffering's covers. In this complex tapestry, stories unfold, Of hope and resilience, young and old. @D.K. Bani
