Bike Ride on a Rainy Day
The overcast sky with daunting gloomy grey, And the tantalizing tranquility of my surroundings. The leaves have fallen, now the ground is where they lay. My legs orbit and my heart is pounding. Music plays so I can't hear my thoughts... In the street, I take my rusty steed for a ride. I breathe heavy, but I can't see it in the air. The rain has come so everyone is dry where they hide With every rotation there's a squeak, but no one is outside to care. No chains have bound me here, but I still cannot leave... My small circle stride drives me forward Every circle or so I just think of you. I sing with a gasp before each word, In the cold I'm warmed by the thought of you. I just want to be wherever I can find you, and a cold autumn day on my bike is where you are.
