BEYOND THE THORNS
Oh! Poverty, have you no compassion? A sickness you are, Why do you cast your shadow to the poor? Why not afflict the rich? For there you would find no home. Oh now I know, Your reason for going to the poor is because you are welcomed with open arms by the poor, Given a false sense of dignity, For you can only move into the refuge of the lazy, Who while the others work hard , They feel dizzy with idleness, You are not to be blamed or condemned For they need to take responsibility, You are the repercussions of idleness, You can only be overcomed through hard work, But only through that struggle comes true happiness. Oh! Those afflicted by poverty, Why not pass through the thorns and thistles with which life is accompanied? Why not feel the temporary pain of growth? To enjoy the rewards of your hard work? Why are you complacent? Why do you develop apathy? Take heed and brace yourself, Develop critical thinking and skills, Swing into action, take up your key unlock new potential and let poverty be chased away.
