Beyond the shattered glass
Beyond the shattered glass ........... From a cracked mirror I see the shadows, Shadows that haunted me They clawed an d grabbed Yet my sanity held on These scars answer to one Just one . Reflections come and go But yours stays behind, If my thoughts were insane They'll keep me afloat I am but a cracked mirror A mirror of who I never was. I've been there Like a drowning ship, The claws of pain Sank deeper than ever They still have their fangs What I become I've accepted. Through poetry I sought my identity, As calming as the winds It helps me see My emotions are but words Words beyond reasons So I keep looking through Through the cracked mirror. © Adiela Michael
