Beyond the flames
The deep yellow flames, thinned with blue fire, Rose higher, deeper, wider. Not scary at first, none to blame, But suddenly, the mood turned merrier. The day is over, the light grows dimmer. We hope we can leave for our various homes, Where the sofa is softer, and the pillow is plusher. And safely rest, with peaceful tones. The fire clouded my mind, my thoughts and feelings. Like I'm lost at sea, unable to find my way To the house, and I wish it could all be a dream. And pray for calm, to end each passing day.
