Beyond Mirrors
I will not fall in love with you for what you have, Or for what you look like when your hair is pretty and when your face is all tidy I will fall in love with your unruly hair and your puffy eyes and half shaven legs I will kiss you with your morning breathe and when you are gray and forget what day it is and begin to put hair brushes in the freezer and dishes in the bathroom and forget how to brew your evening coffee I will love you with your absent mind and when you forget what word's to say, I will read books to you and ask you about your day And when we have the same conversations three times in a row, I will pretend it is new and exciting so that you dont have to remember that you are forgetting the memories that once seemed so secure, And above all I will remind you that you are loved and that you wont lose yourself because I will always be there to find you.
