bethany
Bethany. who is Bethany? she might tell you she's my friend and that we're besties. that we've known each other for so long. that we know each other's secrets and weaknesses, everything about a person locked away in a single dark room. stars and planets glide across the walls of the room and illuminate an other wise dark space, giving off an illusion of comfort and safety while Bethany chills on the floor with her sleeping bag and me on the bed. she'll make me stay up for hours, reading stories, listening to music, reminding me of all my old memories. elementary school, embarrassing moments, kinda just being a nuisance. it'll go on for hours until the clock strikes midnight and sometimes even later. she'll say her goodbye and laugh and sat how we should do this again. my brain screams no, my anxiety wacks my brain with a baseball bat, my body aches to run away but I just smile and nod. can't wait to see Bethany again. freaking bethany.
