Best night.
The fire crackled through the night, The neighbours gathered by its light. We snuck next door to see a dog, Then visited my cats in fog. A pillow fight broke out with cheer, He picked me up and held me near. Beside the fire I'd found a place, While watching him with a smile on my face. With bricks and flames upon the drive, He cooked some eggs and kept them alive. While pizza waited close at hand, He chose a different, stranger plan. I'd look his way and there he'd be, Already looking back at me. Then for a shower I slipped away, Without a word of what I'd say. I checked my phone and there it read: "Where did you go?" the message said. The fire, the cats, the glowing light, The eggs, the text, the perfect night. A thousand moments come and go, But this is one I'll always know.
