Best friend
In the morning's light, just us three, Laughing freely, wild and free. At 8:00, no reason needed, Our bond strong, our spirits seeded. Then four joined in, our circle wide, Memories forged, hearts unified. But time, a thief, it slips away, Leaving shadows, in its sway. I cherish the moments, hold them tight, Yet fear the fading of the light. For with each passing day, they blur, A bittersweet ache, memories stir. Back to three, a longing sigh, Wishing to turn back time's cruel lie. To talk to someone lost in the past, But time's relentless, moving fast. Then only two, I never knew, How swiftly life's path would skew. Out of control, our fate's design, Leaving behind what once was mine. Now alone, in silent reprieve,Watching as others find love to believe. It's only me, left to roam, In the echoes of what once was home.
