Beneath December's Facade By: Marivil Boniza December 2024, a month that will forever be etched in my memory as a time of deception, The lies he told, the promises he broke The trust he shattered - all of it still feels like an open wound, Here's my attempt to put into words the emotions that have been swirling inside me My heart was a canvas, once vibrant and full of life But his lies were a brush that painted a different strife A masterpiece of deception, a work of art that deceived my heart with facade Leaving me with a heart that's frozen cold His words were a gentle breeze that soothed my soul But behind them, a hurricane of lies that took control A facade of kindness, a mask that hid his true face Leaving me to pick up the pieces of a shattered, broken memories I'm left to wonder, was it all just a game? A chess match where I was the pawn, and he was the one who claimed Victory over my heart He also left me with a heart that's gray These eyes, once bright and full of hope, Now dimly lit, a reflection of a heart that's lost its scope But even in the darkness, there's a spark that remains A flame that flickers, a heart that still beats with pain My heart may be scarred, but it's still beating,
