Belonging, once
Ah, the sun is steaming, And I run toward a home I barely remember. Faces blur. Voices sound strange. My name echoes, but not like before. The sun is dim this year. Or maybe it’s just me. It’s been a year… maybe more. I’ve lost count, Like I’ve lost the language That once held my heart. I walk through memories, Each one asking, *What did you leave behind?* I don’t know if I belong— But once, I was someone here.
