Being
I was raised under the idea that the strong don't cry. We couldn't show fear or dare to lie We were passive aggressive or more like the silence kind Our objective was to please and always comply We did as we were told and to this day The voices of disappointment rage in my brain The purpose of obedience still hums in my soul Sometimes I forget who's really in control Our minds were twisted to serve only others Forget who you are because I am only my father's 2nd daughter Become what they say no matter the cost Stop what you are doing and think about what you lost My past doesn't define my future but it does hinder hope This is my fate that I need to let go
