Before the Dawn
The suffocating pressure nurtured by the unknown rests within my bones. I sit in pure darkness. My hands and feet caress the rocks and stones.. Tickles of a whisper echo here and there I can never distinguish their source and so I am scared. With my vision removed, my other senses heighten. Nothing that I do feels as though I am in private. Cloaked in the shadows so thick I am blind; so naked and helpless I feel outlined. Every shift, every move, every tear. I am a fish in a small pond surrounded by spears. One wrong move and I am no longer here. How can one find comfort in such a state: completely stuck and alone to just wait? It's unnerving not knowing. The echoes are growing So digested it's impossible to truly hear. I weep in my knees just wishing it was all clear, and reciting the truths that were never distorted. I will hear the truth in a way that will be supported. There will be no questions and I will not sway. The darkness around will all go away. I will walk lightly. I will be confidently free. Now clothed, I will walk in the glow of dawn towards the vast sea.
