bedtime phone call
I have to talk to you to fall asleep. So you being you, knowing me--wait patiently for me to call your phone while you're gone. You don't care that I just woke you when you hadn't slept enough. And I can't help but laugh at the way the yawn in your voice messes your words up. You hold the microphone too close to your mouth. I don't know whether or not you know how terrible the audio sounds. Blown out and pitchy. And as you ramble on about your day, I note to myself that I need to teach you how to use a phone the right way.
