Beauty in Decay
My dear you’re water— I love the rain, but I cannot swim you see; My cherished inevitable downfall Remember Poison and medicine are the same, The only difference is the dosage we drink. Some are born with sadness sewn in their soul, A constant ache in this world, so cold. There’s never an absence of heat or chill, Only a void in the heart where love can be fulfilled. From my bones, flowers will bloom and decay, I’ll rot, but I’ll rot beautifully, I say. Oh, I’ll terrify the monsters they'll return to shadows and won't rise, Creatures of sorrow beneath tear-stained skies. Am I a child of the cosmos, wandering lost? Is that why I wish to descend or fall below at any cost? I know I’m dying from my own excess, Yet it’s a pity you think you’re not reaching your end. But in this twilight, where shadows entwine, I’m just a ghost, a whisper, a sign.
