Beautiful Lies

Longing to find sincerity in the words I hear you speak My love for , Poetry,Novels, Happy endings,Love overcoming all odds, you know what makes me weak Making me believe the fairytale and all of your beautiful lies whilst telling me forever and I promise as you look me in the eyes Those same words I once entirely believed were only for me You were my universe,my soulmate, My home,I couldn't fathom a future without you that just couldn't be You see I was so lost and broken long before you and I I remember you wiping my tears when I would cry I built strong defenses so I no longer hurt and yet somehow you got through I watched that man I loved slowly fade away,I tried so hard to save us, there was nothing I could do There's no way that man I fell in love with was just some elaborate lie I felt so foolish loving someone unconditionally who could sit by while I would inconsolably cry I I begged him to come back, was he even real?Was any of it true? dare I ask? Did I even truly fall in love with a man or did I just fall in love with a mask?
