Beautiful Flowers Over Decay
Everyone in poetry writes about those they love Compare them to the sun and moon All the stars above But you my love Are beautiful in your own right You are the flowers that bloom from decay You are the ivy wrapping bones You are the flowers who live on rotting flesh You are beautiful in your own way The sky is pretty yes But you are gorgeous like leaves dying on the ground You are as pretty as dried flowers Their colors muted and petals old I love the night sky and even the day time But those hurt my eyes They demand attention from all those around You don't You are pretty like the flowers That will eventually cover my grave
